TFT Displays with OLED viewing angle

Electronic Assemblys brilliant TFT displays offer all-round viewing angles comparable to OLED panels. Thanks to their extraordinary brightness, they are perfectly readable even in extremely bright environments.
Conventional TFT displays have one weak point: the more you look at the display at a slant, the weaker the contrast becomes. At a certain angle it can even tip over completely (gray scale inversion effect). Self-luminous OLED panels don’t have this effect, but they are limited in maximum brightness and life time. The IPS color displays from Electronic Assembly combine the best of both techniques. Thanks to their AACS (All Angle Color Stability) technology, contrast and colors of these graphic displays remain virtually unchanged even at extreme viewing angles. With a brightness of up to 1,000 cd/m², these displays are also clearly readable in direct sunlight. Whether in the operating room or the outdoor measuring station, these displays are in demand wherever one glance has to be enough.
Electronic Assembly offers the compact TFT displays in staggered sizes from 2" to 7". Even the smallest version already has a fine resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and is only 2.2 mm thin. All displays can be ordered with capacitive multi-touch surface.
The panels are easy to install with flex cable connection and matching ZIFF connector. They can be controlled via the classic RGB interface (16 or 24 bit). The smaller displays (2", 2.8" and 3.5") additionally via SPI. They are suitable with any kind of microcontroller. The supply voltage is 3.3 Volt.
Designed for tough continuous use in industry, the TFT displays operate reliably between -20 °C and +70 °C. Electronic Assembly guarantees a service life of at least 50,000 operating hours. As with all its products, Electronic Assembly ensures long-term availability from stock for these TFT panels.

DisplaysLive! Event 2020

From November 10th to 12th 2020, Electronic Assembly will provide numerous virtual events around displays. Among other things, the display specialists will showcase their worldwide unique series of multi-touch-capable display modules in small dimensions.

The tablet-like displays of the uniTFT series are available in staggered sizes from 2 to 10.1 inches. As IPS panels with AACS technology (All Angle Color Stability), they keep contrast and colors stable even at oblique viewing angles. These displays are not subject to the inverse tilt effect that is inherent in the widely used TN displays. With a maximum brightness of more than 1,000 cd/m², they are clearly readable even in direct sunlight or under bright surgical lights. The capacitive touch surface of the uniTFTs recognizes multi-finger gestures and also reacts reliably when used with thin gloves.
Thanks to the integrated input/output and fast graphics controller, the display modules are "ready to run" without additional peripherals. They can be controlled via USB and all common industrial interfaces (SPI, I²C, RS232). The enclosed Windows tool uniTFTDesigner includes an extensive library of graphic elements as well as functions for diagrams, digital and analogue meter instruments or line recorders. Even users who are not experienced in programming can easily create animated touch and display functions, also with audio output.
The uniTFTs are suitable for the operation of analysis devices or intelligent measuring and test setups as well as control panels in mobile homes, high-quality kitchens and wellness or fitness equipment. They are also an excellent replacement for mechanical switches and controllers in home automation.

Schedule: 11th November 2020, 14:00 to 14:30 o’clock (MEZ), online.

Smart Touch Displays uniTFTs

With the uniTFTs series, Electronic Assembly offers a range of small touch displays that give every switch or control unit the operating convenience of a tablet. With integrated graphics controller, extensive graphics functions and numerous interfaces, the displays are ready to run without additional peripherals.

Only three fingers wide is the smallest variant from Electronic Assembly's new uniTFTs series. Nevertheless, this capacitive touch display has a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels on its 2.0 inch screen diagonal. In addition, this series is currently also available in 2.8 inch (320 x 240), 3.5 inch (480 x 320) and 4.3 inch (480 x 272) diagonals.

The brilliant color displays are using improved IPS-Panels with AACS technology (All Angle Color Stability). Contrast and colors are retained even at extreme viewing angles. Unlike commonly used TN-Panels these displays do not have an inverse tilt effect. With typ. 1,000 cd/m² and more brightness, the displays are rich in contrast and clearly readable even in direct sunlight. A video on website show this impressively. All screens are equipped with an optically bonded, capacitive touch surface. This allows direct and intuitive interaction even with multiple gestures.

Thanks to the integrated I/O and fast graphics controller, they can also be used to implement stand-alone applications without additional hardware. Extensive graphic functions support the programming of impressive touch and display functions as well as animations with the included Windows tool uniTFTDesigner (available f.o.c.). All displayed objects can be animated and can be changed in form, colour and content during runtime. The built-in flash memory acts as a storage for images, fonts, menus and log files. The built-in audio output ensures acoustic attention.

With USB, RS232, SPI and I²C the uniTFTs have all common serial interfaces. Four analog inputs as well as eight freely definable I/O interfaces are used to acquire data and issue control commands. The I/Os are expandable up to 136.

The miniature touch panels are ideally suited as a replacement for mechanical switches and controllers in home automation, as operating panels in mobile homes or for installation in high-quality kitchen as well as wellness or fitness equipment.
Designed for control panel for industrial usage in analyzing equipment, paper-feeding machines and intelligent measuring devices Electronic Assembly guarantees comprehensive service directly from Germany as well as long-term availability.

Smart touch displays in miniature format

At the upcoming embedded world 2020 on February 25th in Nuremberg, innovative display manufacturer Electronic Assembly will be presenting the world’s first series of smart miniature touch displays.

The extremely affordable uniTFTs displays employing IPS technology have a capacitive touch screen for direct and intuitive interaction. The first member of this new display family is the smallest one with its diagonal of 2” only. More sizes in 2.8", 3.5" and 4.3" formats will follow shortly. Boasting a luminance of 1,000 cd/m2 and more, they offer brilliant and high-contrast images even in bright sunlight. This screen technology permits viewing angles of almost 360°. All touch and display functions as well as animations can be freely programmed using the supplied Windows tool.

The miniature touch panels are therefore eminently suited to replace physical switches and controllers in home automation, for use as control panels in caravans or for integration into kitchen appliances as well as wellness and fitness equipment. Alongside a USB interface, they come with all customary interfaces, such as RS232, SPI and I2C. Digital in- and outputs, 4 analogue inputs and a PWM output make it possible to use them as intelligent controllers for the calculation and management of data and signals.

At the world's leading trade fair for embedded systems, held in Nuremberg from 25th to 27th February 2020, you will have the opportunity to personally experience the features of these novel miniature touch panels from the uniTFTs family in hall 1 at stand 1 389. The uniTFT family also comprises larger formats of up to 10.1" with nearly identical functions.
